Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has declared that he remains hopeful of securing a deal to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani before the campaign gets underway.
Cavani is reportedly in talks with PSG over personal terms, after the French champions agreed to meet the Uruguayan's buyout clause at Napoli, believed to be at around £53m.
Blanc has insisted that the imminent departure of sporting director Leonardo will not affect the proposed deal, with confidence high in the French capital that Cavani will join PSG this summer.
He told reporters: "I am confident. But as the player is not yet officially at the club, it would be useless to work on projected ideas.
"It's best to wait until the player is officially with the club."
Blanc secured a 2-1 victory over Rapid Vienna in his first pre-season friendly as manager last night, with the goals coming from Javier Pastore and Kevin Gameiro.
