PSV Eindhoven have won their ninth Eredivisie game in a row courtesy of a hard-fought 3-1 win at home to FC Utrecht tonight.
The home side had most of the possession in the first half, but they could not make it tell as Luuk de Jong and Georgino Wijnaldum missed decent opportunities.
However, it took them just three second-half minutes to find the breakthrough as De Jong set up Luciano Narsingh to slot the ball into the net.
As the game became stretched, Memphis Depay became more dangerous for PSV and he doubled their lead three minutes later when he ran through the Utrecht defence and fired a low shot across the keeper into the far corner.
The visitors pulled a goal back through a neat Yassine Ayoube strike, but they could not make their late pressure tell as the highly-rated Depay wrapped the game up with a late free kick that flew into the net.
