Joey Barton has said that Queens Park Rangers "slightly shaded" their Championship playoff semi-final against Wigan Athletic over the two legs.
Following a goalless first leg, the Hoops had to come from a goal down at Loftus Road this evening to secure a 2-1 win after extra time.
The midfielder told Sky Sports News: "We had a lot of pointers during the week about how hard it will be, credit to Wigan who caused us a lot of problems. Sad there has to be a loser because it would be a great final but we roll on, we dug deep and got a goal and over the two legs I we think slightly shaded it.
"We are building a group of men together, a band of brothers, It's been a slow process. The gaffer spotted that their diamond was causing us problems and we sorted it."
QPR will face Derby County in the final at Wembley later this month.
