Youth team coach Marc Bircham has predicted that Adel Taarabt will excel in the Premier League after Queens Park Rangers decided to keep the midfielder at Loftus Road.
The 22-year-old was linked to a move to Ligue 1 after PSG expressed interest in the playmaker. However, QPR snubbed the French team stating that they wanted to keep hold of Taarabt.
Bircham has welcomed the news and suggested that the Morocco international will stand out in the top flight.
“I think it’s a big statement by the club, turning down bids and putting their faith in Adel,” Bircham told talkSPORT.
“It’s fantastic for the club that Adel is staying and it’s fantastic for the Premier League.
"If he can produce half of what he did last year in the Premier League, it’ll be some show.”
QPR have secured the signings of Jay Bothroyd, Danny Gabbidon and Kieron Dyer ahead of the season.
