Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Robert Green has insisted that there are positives to take from the team's defeat to Manchester United.
The R's failed to climb out of the relegation zone on Saturday as they were beaten 2-0 at home by the Red Devils.
However, Green believes that QPR can proud of their efforts against the likes of Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria.
"We put everything on the line and got applauded off by our fans, which is a pleasing guideline for how we played," he told the club's official website. "We showed plenty of spirit and endeavour in our performance, but unfortunately we just came up short.
"With five minutes to go they would have been very pleased to win the game 1-0, so they would have been delighted to nick a second and win 2-0. That's something that happens in football when you're pushing forward."
QPR continue their fight for Premier League survival on January 31 when they face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
