Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp believes that most managers dislike the idea of having a pre-season tour abroad.
The majority of the clubs in the Premier League will engage in matches across the globe, including places such as the United States and Hong Kong.
Redknapp wrote in his column in the The Sun: "Ask any manager of the top four clubs on the quiet where they would like to go on a pre-season tour, and you can bet your bottom dollar, yen or Krugerrand that it wouldn't be to any of these far-flung venues.
"Once upon a time the idea of pre-season was to get the players back from holiday and train them up to be fit again in time for the big kickoff."
QPR will begin life in the Championship on August 3 against Sheffield Wednesday.
