England Under-21 manager Gareth Southgate has claimed that Ravel Morrison's loan spell with Championship side Queens Park Rangers will not adversely affect his international prospects.
The attacking midfielder joined Harry Redknapp's team on a short-term deal from West Ham United in January, but Southgate believes that dropping down a division won't harm the youngster's chances on the national stage.
The Mirror quotes Southgate as saying: "I don't think it is a massive negative to be dropping back down into the Championship if he is getting regular football.
"I think for players of that age they are going to have that path where there is a high and a dip.
"It is how you respond to all those successes or setbacks that forms you as a player. This is a little challenge for him but he has the ability to be successful."
Morrison was part of the Rangers side that drew 1-1 with Leeds United on Saturday.
