Queens Park Rangers earned a second pre-season win in four days by overcoming Irish outfit Athlone Town this evening.
The newly-promoted Premier League side, who beat Shamrock Rovers 4-0 on Saturday, took the lead inside the first quarter of an hour when Bobby Zamora rifled home from close range.
The lead was doubled 10 minutes after half time through Charlie Austin, who slotted home from inside the box. He could have had a second before the game was up, but a couple of late efforts were cleared off the line.
Harry Redknapp's side begin their campaign back in the Premier League with a visit from Hull City a week on Saturday.
