Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin believes that he made the right decision to move to Loftus Road in the summer.

Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has admitted that he wanted to prove himself upon his arrival at Loftus Road.

Austin moved to Harry Redknapp's outfit for a fee in the region of £4m, and although he missed out on an opportunity to sign for Hull City earlier in the summer, the former Burnley forward has revealed that he is enjoying life in London.

The 24-year-old told Sky Sports News: "When I first came in, and I saw the size of the club and the players here, I felt that I had something to prove and to show them that I am a decent striker.

"It's well-documented that my move to Hull fell through, so I came here and luckily enough, I have got a nice return so far.

"It was the right move for me and to progress my career. Looking at it now, it's all worked out very well."

Austin has scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for QPR.
