Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton will sign a six-month loan deal with Fleetwood Town on Saturday, according to reports.
Barton will join the League Two side for six months as he looks to rebuild his career, The Non-League Paper claims.
Barton was banned for 12 matches by the Football Association and stripped of the captaincy at QPR following his actions on the last day of the season against Manchester City.
The 29-year-old has been training with Fleetwood and played 45 minutes for the Cod Army against Kilmarnock in midweek.
Fleetwood manager Mickey Mellon praised Barton's attitude since joining the club for training.
He said: "He is a few weeks behind because he hasn't trained as much, but he has been a real, positive influence on the group."
Barton is due to continue his pre-season preparations for the newly-promoted side in a friendly against Tranmere Rovers at Highbury on Saturday.
