Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes has admitted that his lack of experience in football contributed to their failures this season.
The R's signed a number of free agents on big wages at the start of the season, but Fernandes does not believe that they performed to the expected standard.
"At the time when we arrived we were offered a lot of players, many on free transfers," he told reporters at a press conference.
"We questioned a few of these and it wouldn't be fair for me to name names but we weren't long in the business and we deferred [the deals] to the footballing side of the business. At the end of the day, we went with what the footballing side said."
It was recently confirmed that Harry Redknapp will remain in charge next season.
