Queen of the South maintained their playoff hopes in the Scottish Championship by defeating Raith Rovers 2-1 this afternoon.
The home side got off to the perfect start as Iain Russell scored his 13th of the season, tapping in following Mark Millar's corner.
Queen of the South continued to press but it was Raith's Lewis Vaughan who came close to equalising, with Alexander Clark saving his effort before Ryan Conroy's shot was blocked.
Vaughan levelled matters in the 20th minute after the ball fell to him in the penalty area, with claims for a Christian Nade handball in the build-up denied.
Six minutes before half time, Gavin Reilly gave Queen of the South the lead with a tap in from close range.
Raith pushed in the second half to get back into the game, but Queen of the South looked dangerous on the break.
In a half of few chances, Queen of the South held on to remain fourth in the table.
