Dion Dublin has claimed that it is impossible for racism to be eradicated in football as long as there are "uneducated individuals" in society.
The former Aston Villa striker believes that the Football Association should aim to reduce racism in the game but insists that it will always be a part of the sport.
"Racism is in society, therefore it's in football," Dublin told The Sun. "You won't get rid of it, it's just trying to reduce it to the smallest percentage we possibly can.
"There are always going to be ignorant, uneducated individuals who are going to be racist.
"I'm not just talking about towards black people, I'm talking towards white people, Chinese people, Asian people – there's always going to be racism towards somebody."
Rio and Anton Ferdinand released a statement on Wednesday regarding recent race issues in the Premier League.
