How Rangers could line up against Celtic

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Scottish Premiership champions Rangers could line up for Sunday's clash with Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Rangers will celebrate their first game as Scottish Premiership champions with a trip to Old Firm rivals Celtic on Sunday lunchtime, hoping to extend their 32-match unbeaten league run.

The Gers head to Celtic Park without club captain James Tavernier and Nikola Katic, who are both suffering with knee injuries. Katic is out for the rest of the season, while Tavernier's recovery is going well and he hopes to return before the end of this campaign.

Steven Gerrard has confirmed that right-back Nathan Patterson is a doubt for the game against the Hoops as the 19-year-old picked up a knock in the defeat to Slavia Prague.

Central defender Leon Balogun started and was sent off against Slavia in midweek, but the Nigerian remains in contention to keep his place alongside Connor Goldson in the heart of defence.

However, if Patterson is not fit to play this weekend, Balogun could start at right-back with Filip Helander returning to the side at centre-back.

Midfielder Ryan Jack, who has not featured for the Gers since February 21, remains a doubt with a calf problem but could yet make the matchday squad.

Alfredo Morelos is expected to start up front once again for Rangers and will face a Celtic side who are the only Scottish Premiership opponents he has failed to score against; the Colombian has had 25 shots without scoring across 12 matches against the Hoops.

Rangers possible starting lineup: McGregor; Balogun, Goldson, Helander, Barisic; Kamara, Davies, Arfield; Aribo, Morelos, Kent
