Rangers have extended their lead at the top of Scottish League One to 20 points courtesy of a narrow 2-0 win over Forfar Athletic this evening.
Forfar almost took a shock lead after just four minutes when Martyn Fotheringham picked out Odmar Faeroe at the back post, only for the defender to hit the bar with a looping header.
Nicholas Law tested Robert Douglas at the other end shortly afterwards, while Dean Shiels also came close for the visitors in the 26th minute when he flashed a shot just past the post from the edge of the box.
Rangers began the second half on top and came within inches of breaking the deadlock 15 minutes after the restart when Lee McCulloch's fierce free kick took a slight deflection off the wall on its way to crashing against the bar.
The leaders did finally take the lead in the 75th minute when Bilel Mohsni met a corner with a powerful header at the front post, leaving the keeper no chance.
The hosts very nearly equalised five minutes later, however, as a corner deflected off Mohsni and Lee Wallace, drawing a fine save out of Steve Simonsen.
Rangers sealed all three points with just a minute of normal time remaining as a quick counter-attack ended with David Templeton producing an accomplished finish to ensure that his side's 100% away record this season stayed intact.
