Scottish Championship side Rangers take former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder Gai Assulin on trial.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has confirmed that Gai Assulin is currently training with the club.

The former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder has been out of the game since he was released by Mallorca at the end of last season.

However, Warburton has revealed that the 24-year-old is on trial with the Ibrox-based outfit, although no decision has been made with regards to a potential contract offer.

"Gai's still here and training well. When you sign anyone, be it staff member or player, it's about getting the right decision and doing your homework, due diligence for both parties," he told the Glasgow Times.

"We are looking at him and he is looking at us. It's up to us to make the call when it is appropriate."

Assulin has been capped by Israel at senior international level once.
