Rangers will reportedly go all out to sign Kieran Dowell on loan from Everton as a direct replacement for Ovie Ejaria.
The Gers lost Ejaria to parent club Liverpool earlier this week as the youngster failed to settle in Glasgow.
Steven Gerrard has admitted to being a fan of Dowell, but he gave little away when pushed by reporters as to whether he intended to bring in the youngster next month.
According to The Sun, Rangers' interest in the 21-year-old is concrete and the Scottish Premiership leaders hope to have a deal in place for the start of January.
Dowell, who spent last season on loan with Nottingham Forest in the Championship, has just two EFL Cup appearances to his name this term.
