The Scottish Premier League have told Rangers that they cannot sign striker Daniel Cousin.
The SPL champions have been refused permission to sign Cousin following their move into administration on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old had agreed to join the Gers last week, but a late change to the deal meant that it could not be completed before the club entered administration.
The SFA announced on Friday that they would be conducting their own investigation into the club's financial activities.
Cousin spent one season at Ibrox in 2007.
