Rayo Vallecano have scraped into the last 16 of the Copa del Rey on away goals after a 3-1 win from behind at home to La Liga rivals Real Valladolid.
The first leg finished 0-0 and after a feisty encounter at Estadio del Rayo Vallecano the hosts booked their place in the next round.
Valladolid's early pressure paid off just before the half-hour mark as Javi Guerra finished neatly, but the lead lasted just four minutes when Adrian Gonzalez headed in at the far post to equalise.
After the goals the match became quite scrappy with a number of yellow cards shown, as well as a red for the away goalscorer just after the restart, which meant that Valladolid had to hang on for over 40 minutes with 10 men.
Vallecano piled forward and in the end they were able to grab the goal that put them into the last 16 thanks to Adrian's second, before making the result safe in injury time through Alberto Bueno.
