Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo have kept Real Madrid level at 2-2 on the night with Schalke 04 in the Champions League, leaving them 4-2 up on aggregate.
The visitors made a strong start as Eric Choupo-Moting was played in by Max Meyer, but his finish was just wide of the target for the German side.
Schalke did break the deadlock inside the opening 20 minutes though, as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar flicked the ball in low for Christian Fuchs to smash past Iker Casillas from close range.
It took the defending champions just five minutes to level the scores, as Ronaldo rose highest to nod the ball in from a Toni Kroos corner.
Schalke broke forward again in the final minutes of the first half, and managed to retake the lead when Huntelaar pounced on the rebound moments after hitting the crossbar.
However, there was more to come from the hosts in the final seconds as Ronaldo pounced on a Fabio Coentrao cross in stoppage time, heading in for the second time.
