Angel Di Maria believes that Real Madrid's ability to counter attack effectively was the main reason behind their 4-0 victory over Lyon last night.
Goals from Karim Benzema, Sami Khedira, Sergio Ramos, as well as a Hugo Lloris own goal, helped Madrid move into a commanding position in their qualifying group.
"Lyon waited deep in their own half looking to strike on the break. We controlled the ball well, though, and knew how to take advantage of our own counter-attacks," the Madrid winger told UEFA.com.
"With nine points on the board, we know we now go to Lyon with an advantage in the group before facing Dinamo Zagreb at home and let's hope those games go as well as tonight's did. We played football with a lot of movement this evening.
"The team is playing really well and you don't notice who is coming in and out of the first 11 because everything is working for us. It's important we continue in this way."
Jose Mourinho's Madrid hold a five-point lead at the top of Group D.
