Karim Benzema has been left out of the Real Madrid squad to face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.
On Monday, the Frenchman revealed that he was doing 'everything in his power' in a bid to prove his fitness ahead of the Champions League clash in Paris after picking up a hamstring problem while on international duty.
However, the striker has not been named in Rafael Benitez's 19-man squad for the European clash, leaving the Spanish side short of options in the final third.
Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez will also miss out for Los Blancos, but Lucas Vasquez, Jese Rodriguez and Borja Mayoral have all been included.
Real Madrid, who have collected six points from their two Group A matches this season, have never beaten PSG in Paris.
