Atletico Madrid defender Miranda has criticised Serbian referee Milorad Mazic following Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.
Atletico were furious with Mazic's failure to punish Sergio Ramos for a perceived elbow on Mario Mandzukic, who was forced to leave the field with a bloodied nose.
Miranda has claimed that "referees from minor leagues" should not be in charge of games at the highest level.
"I won't talk about referee, but I think referees from minor leagues should not be in charge of this kind of game," he is quoted as saying by AS.
"We had chances to win but Madrid also had theirs. We had a very bad first half and we were better in the second. Now we have to go get the win [in the second leg]. It's a tough game and we will go for the win. We can qualify by scoring a goal."
The second leg will take place at the Bernabeu next Wednesday.
