Aurelien Tchouameni and Eden Hazard will both be missing for Real Madrid's Champions League clash with Celtic on Wednesday night.

Los Blancos are currently top of Group F, one point clear of second-placed RB Leipzig, meaning that they will need to beat Celtic to be certain of claiming first position in the section.

Real Madrid had two absentees against Girona in La Liga on Sunday, with Karim Benzema again unavailable for selection due to muscular fatigue, while Tchouameni was also absent.

Benzema has returned to the squad for this match, with the experienced striker successfully completing the final training session ahead of the contest.

However, Tchouameni and Hazard have both been left out of the squad for the game with Celtic.

"Tchouameni won't be available tomorrow and Benzema is going to train now. If he feels good, he'll be in the squad. I'll then have to see if he starts the game or comes on later. We'll see after training," said Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti during his pre-match press conference.

Tchouameni was unable to train with Los Blancos on Monday due to a muscular problem, and the France international will not feature against the Scottish giants.

Meanwhile, Hazard is also said to be suffering with muscular fatigue, with the Belgium international also not a part of the squad for Wednesday's European contest.

The 31-year-old has again struggled to make his mark for Real Madrid this season, managing just one goal and one assist in six appearances in all competitions.

"It's an important game. We know that our objective is to finish top of the group. We're up against a team that plays at high intensity, we're prepared and we want to put on a top performance," Ancelotti said ahead of the match.

"We've got all the conditions to do so. We're back at our stadium on a Champions League night. I think we're capable of producing our best.

"It's not that important (finishing first) because a lot of competitive teams who finish second reach the last 16. What's most important is the prestige of Real Madrid, and we mustn't forget that.

"This is a special competition for this club and we have to give it the respect it deserves, not just because of the three points. We have to produce that image that the club has always shown."

Real Madrid have three more games before the season halts for the World Cup, following the clash with Celtic with La Liga fixtures against Rayo Vallecano and Cadiz.
