Real Madrid will reportedly launch an appeal in an attempt to have Xabi Alonso's suspension for the Champions League final overturned.
The Spanish midfielder was booked in the second leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich last week – a match that Los Blancos win 4-0 with doubles from Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos.
As it stands, Alonso will sit out the final after accumulating two bookings in the knockout stages, but according to AS, Madrid will launch an appeal in the next couple of days.
Madrid will take their appeal to UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body, but it is understood that the Spanish outfit have little chance of success.
