Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that Real Madrid can become the first team to win the Champions League in successive seasons.
Speaking after finding the net twice in the European Super Cup victory over Sevilla on Tuesday night, Ronaldo claimed that the players added to the squad this summer will help Real challenge in every competition.
"Madrid are going to be the first team [to retain the Champions League], I hope," the Portuguese forward told reporters.
"I believe that the players Real Madrid bought - Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Keylor Navas - they're going to give more support to the team and more quality.
"I am very glad for the quality we have in the squad. We're going to try to win all the trophies. It's good to win this trophy to give confidence to the team."
Real return to action in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid next Tuesday.
