Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their Club World Cup semi-final clash with Al Ahly on Wednesday.
Sports Mole

Real Madrid will endeavour to return to winning ways when they begin their Club World Cup campaign against Al Ahly in the semi-finals on Wednesday.

Los Blancos suffered a major blow in their quest to retain the La Liga title when they lost 1-0 away against Mallorca on Sunday courtesy of a 13th-minute own goal from Nacho Fernandez.

Carlo Ancelotti's men have dropped points in three of their last five Spanish top-flight matches and they now find themselves eight points behind league leaders Barcelona.

Real Madrid now turn their attention to the Club World Cup with a semi-final encounter against Egyptian outfit Al Ahly, who have beaten Auckland City and Seattle Sounders to reach the last four.

Ahead of the contest at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Ferland Mendy is ruled out for up to two months after sustaining a hamstring injury in the first half of Real Madrid's Copa del Rey win over rivals Atletico Madrid just under two weeks ago.

Eden Hazard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Eden Hazard, who has struggled with injuries throughout his time at Real Madrid, missed the defeat at Mallorca due to a knee problem and it remains to been seen how long the Belgian will spend on the sidelines.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Lucas Vazquez has missed the last seven games across all competitions since spraining his ankle against Valencia in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup last month, and there is currently not timeframe on his return to first-team action.

Thibaut Courtois

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 8 vs. Al Ahly

Thibaut Courtois sustained a muscle problem in the warm-up shortly before Sunday's defeat against Mallorca and the Belgian shot-stopper will miss the trip to Morocco.

Karim Benzema

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: February 8 vs. Al Ahly

Karim Benzema was forced off with a hamstring injury against Valencia last Thursday and the 35-year-old is ruled out of Wednesday's contest.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: February 8 vs. Al Ahly

Like Benzema, Eder Militao was also replaced in the first half against Valencia due to a groin problem, and the defender will not travel with the rest of the squad to Morocco.
