Sports Mole looks at how the players performed during Saturday's La Liga clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona at Bernabeu.
Sports Mole

Robert Lewandowski registered twice while Lamine Yamal and Raphinha were also on the scoresheet in Barcelona's incredible 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clasico on Saturday night.

All four goals came in the second period, with Hansi Flick's side running riot after the break, and the result has moved the Catalan giants six points clear of second-placed Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table.

Here, Sports Mole takes a close look at how each player performed in El Clasico.

Real Madrid player ratings vs. Barcelona: Mbappe struggles after first-half disappointment

GOALKEEPER

Andriy Lunin- 6/10

Lunin is a dependable performer between the sticks, but he is not Thibaut Courtois, and Real Madrid missed their number one goalkeeper tonight. That said, Lunin needed a lot more from those ahead of him.

DEFENCE

Lucas Vazquez - 6/10

Vazquez is currently the first-choice right-back due to Dani Carvajal's long-term injury, and he was strong going forward, but the Spaniard was caught out on a number of occasions defensively in the second period.

Eder Militao - 5/10

Militao is one of the best centre-backs in the world, but this was simply not his night. Lewandowski proved to be too strong for him on more than one occasion, and the Brazilian will want to move on quickly from El Clasico.

Antonio Rudiger - 5/10

Has been an inspirational figure for Real Madrid in recent weeks, but Rudiger, like Militao, struggled against Barcelona's front three of Lewandowski, Yamal and Raphinha, who were all on the scoresheet.

Ferland Mendy - 6/10

Probably the pick of Real Madrid's defenders, with Yamal finding it tough against him for long stages, but the Barcelona attacker ultimately showed his class, and Mendy was replaced in the latter stages.

MIDFIELD

Federico Valverde - 6/10

Has been a star performer for Real Madrid this season, but Barcelona's midfield started to run the match in the second period, and Valverde needed a lot more energy and quality from those around him.

Aurelien Tchouameni - 5/10

Brought in to provide some stability in the midfield, and the Frenchman was strong in the first half of the match, but he struggled at the start of the second and was the first Real Madrid player replaced in El Clasico.

Eduardo Camavinga - 6/10

It was not a surprise that Camavinga came in for a start in El Clasico, and he was impressive in the opening 45 minutes, with Real Madrid dominating the match, but he struggled in the second half and was replaced in the 77th minute.

Jude Bellingham - 5/10

Had an extraordinary 2023-24 campaign after arriving from Borussia Dortmund, but Bellingham has struggled to get going in the early stages of this season and was overshadowed in El Clasico on Saturday night.

ATTACK

Kylian Mbappe - 6/10

Thought that he had scored in the first half, only to see the offside flag deny him. Mbappe continued to be caught offside by Barcelona's defence throughout the contest, and it proved to be a very frustrating night for him.

Vinicius Junior - 6/10

Was Real Madrid's biggest threat in the first half and had a couple of opportunities to make the breakthrough, but he was simply unable to repeat his heroics from the Champions League game with Borussia Dortmund.

SUBSTITUTES

Luka Modric - 6/10

Was a slight surprise that he did not start, and Real Madrid did lack midfield control without him, but the Croatian was able to make his mark after being introduced in the 63rd minute of the contest.

Brahim Diaz - 5/10

Returned from injury as a 77th-minute substitute, but he found it difficult to make his mark.

Fran Garcia - 6/10

Was brought on in the 86th minute after Real Madrid had conceded a fourth.

Barcelona player ratings vs. Real Madrid: Lewandowski, Yamal, Raphinha star in El Clasico

GOALKEEPER

Inaki Pena - 6/10

Made four saves in El Clasico, but he was protected by his defence for the majority of the match. Continues to impress between the Barcelona sticks in the absence of the club's number one goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

DEFENCE

Jules Kounde - 7/10

Kounde will believe that his best performances come in the middle of the defence, but the Frenchman was again solid at right-back on Saturday evening, making it difficult for Vinicius to get into the match.

Pau Cubarsi - 8/10

Quite incredible to think that he is only 17 when viewing his performances. Cubarsi was a part of a Barcelona defence that held an impressive line throughout the match, and this was another standout performance from him.

Inigo Martinez - 8/10

Got an assist in the latter stages for a wonderful pass to Raphinha, but it was his defensive work that impressed the most, with Mbappe finding it difficult to get the better of the experienced centre-back.

Alejandro Balde - 8/10

Produced a wonderful cross to set up Lewandowski for his second of the match, and he made it very difficult for Real Madrid's forwards to influence the match on Saturday night.

MIDFIELD

Marc Casado - 7/10

Was retained in the starting side despite players returning from injury, and he more than proved himself in El Clasico, using the ball brilliantly, including providing the assist for Lewandowski to make the breakthrough.

Pedri - 8/10

Completed 53 of his 58 passes during a brilliant midfield performance, while he also made two tackles before being replaced by fellow Spaniard Gavi in the latter stages of the contest.

Fermin Lopez - 6/10

Was excellent against Bayern Munich last time out and continued in the number 10 position, but the Spaniard found it difficult to get into the match, and it was not a shock when he was replaced at the interval by Frenkie de Jong.

ATTACK

Lamine Yamal - 8/10

Became the youngest-ever goalscorer in El Clasico with his strike in the latter stages, and he again demonstrated why he is one of the most outstanding young players in world football with a wonderful performance.

Robert Lewandowski - 9/10

Would have been a 10/10 if he had not missed some chances after scoring twice, but this was a truly exceptional centre-forward performance from Lewandowski, who has been at his best for Barcelona in the early stages of the season.

Raphinha - 8/10

Did not match his heroics from the clash with Bayern Munich, when he scored a hat trick, but the Brazilian set up Yamal for 3-0 before getting his name on the scoresheet in the latter stages of the contest.

SUBSTITUTES

Frenkie de Jong - 7/10

Replaced Fermin at the interval, and he brought some real control to the Barcelona midfield, with the Netherlands international using all of his experience to help the Catalan giants secure a huge win.

Dani Olmo - 7/10

Now back from injury and will be bidding to work his way back into the starting side. The Spaniard was given the final 25 minutes of El Clasico and was impressive with his use of the ball and work-rate.

Gavi - 6/10

Only given the final exchanges against Real Madrid, replacing Pedri in the 87th minute.
