Real Madrid are back in La Liga action on Thursday evening when they make the trip to face Alaves at Mendizorroza.

Los Blancos head into this fixture on the back of an impressive 4-1 victory over Villarreal at the weekend, their 13th league win in 17 outings.

However, Carlo Ancelotti's side currently find themselves in a two-horse title race with surprise package Girona at a time when they are having to deal with another major injury blow.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Alaves, who are 13th in the standings.

Eder Militao

Eder Militao underwent surgery on the serious knee injury that he suffered in the team's season opener, and the defender will be unavailable for selection for at least another three to four months.

Thibaut Courtois also underwent an operation on an ACL injury earlier this season and the club's number one is currently stepping up his rehabilitation ahead of a potential return in April.

Arda Guler, who is yet to make his Real Madrid debut, recently suffered a fresh fitness setback, but he is on course to return for Ancelotti's side at the start of 2024.

Eduardo Camavinga will not be back on the field until at least January due to a knee injury which he picked up during a training session with France during the November international break.

Real Madrid will be without Vinicius Junior until at least January due to a thigh injury that he suffered while representing Brazil during the recent international break.

Dani Carvajal

Real Madrid will be missing first-choice right-back Dani Carvajal once again on Sunday due to a calf problem, with the Spaniard expected to be out until after the winter break.

David Alaba

Real Madrid were dealt another huge fitness blow on Sunday after David Alaba sustained an ACL injury in the first half against Villarreal; the Austria international is now expected to be absent for the rest of the season.
