Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has left Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Thibaut Courtois out of his squad for Sunday's La Liga contest with Cadiz.

During his pre-match press conference, Ancelotti revealed that the key trio would sit out the match, as the Italian is rotating his squad ahead of the Champions League final.

"I'm giving him a rest because he's earned it, I'll be resting Courtois and Vini Jr., tomorrow as well, they deserve it. They'll be back on Tuesday to prepare for the next game," Ancelotti told reporters.

Luka Modric was also absent from the squad list, with the Croatia international unavailable through suspension.

Luka Jovic has also been left out for the Spanish champions due to a muscular problem, meaning that Mariano Diaz could get the nod through the middle for the visitors.

Real Madrid still have injury problems, meanwhile, with David Alaba, Marcelo, Isco and Gareth Bale all left out of the squad for the team's penultimate league game of the campaign.

Courtois's absence will open the door for Andriy Lunin to start between the sticks, while Eduardo Camavinga could feature alongside Toni Kroos and Casemiro in midfield.

Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos are both back in the squad following their recent injury problems, and there is also a spot for Eden Hazard.

The Belgium international has been on the sidelines since March, having undergone surgery to remove an osteosynthesis plate in his right fibula.

Hazard recently returned to first-team training, though, and he could be involved against Cadiz, while Ancelotti has revealed that the experienced attacker is staying at the club this summer.

"This is an absolutely top class dressing room, highly professional. There are no arrogant personalities, everyone here is humble, respectful with the kit men and the physios. It's not been easy to find that, there are far more complicated dressing rooms," Ancelotti told reporters when asked about his squad.

Meanwhile, the Italian also commented on the recent rotation in his squad, as Real Madrid secured the La Liga title at the end of April, which has taken the pressure off ahead of the Champions League final with Liverpool at the end of the month.

"With a more complete squad you can afford to rotate more and everyone gets their chance. Choosing who will start at a great team is tough for everyone, not just the players. I don't think the amount of minutes is the most important thing, it's the quality of the game time," he added.

"Rodrygo is the perfect example. He hasn't played an awful lot but whenever he has he's shown real quality and made the difference."

The absences in the final third of the field mean that there is a call-up for 21-year-old Real Madrid Castilla attacker Juanmi Latasa, while central defender Mario Gila has also been included.
