Real Madrid centre-back Pepe reportedly suffered a tear to his thigh during Saturday's La Liga clash with Alaves.
The Portuguese pulled up midway through the first half of Real Madrid's 4-1 victory with a thigh problem and had to be replaced as the Spanish club's injury concerns mounted.
After the match, head coach Zinedine Zidane admitted that he was 'unsure' of what damage had occurred to the 33-year-old, but according to Marca, Pepe has torn his thigh muscle, which would mean an extended period on the sidelines.
Pepe will be out of contract at the end of the current season and it is understood that Jose Mourinho wants the Euro 2016 winner at Manchester United.
