Barcelona boss Xavi has revealed that Ansu Fati will be in the squad for the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Real Madrid on January 12.

The 19-year-old has scored four times and registered one assist in eight appearances for the Catalan giants during the 2021-22 campaign.

Fati has been on the sidelines since the start of November with a hamstring injury, but there were suggestions that he could make his return against Granada in La Liga on Sunday.

Xavi has said that the club will not take any risks when it comes to the Spain international this weekend, but he will be involved in the Spanish Super Cup against Los Blancos.

"Ansu is fine. There was a chance that he'd be in the squad, but we don't want to take any risks. We'll keep him back. He'll be with us for the Supercopa, which is great news for us. He makes a big difference," Xavi told reporters.

The teenager has scored 17 times and registered six assists in 51 appearances for Barcelona since breaking into the first team at Camp Nou. body check tags ::
