Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has slammed FIFA president Sepp Blatter by saying that it is "impossible" to shut him up after he reportedly dismissed Cristiano Ronaldo's chances of winning the Ballon d'Or.
Ronaldo, who is the current holder of the prestigious award, is favourite to clinch successive titles in January, but it is believed that Blatter wants German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to beat the Portuguese star to it.
During today's press conference, Ancelotti said: "It always surprises me what he does, but what are we going to do? It's impossible to shut the mouth of the FIFA president.
"There isn't much to think about. It is Cristiano's year, he scored goals and won important titles. There should be no doubt that he is the Ballon d'Or [winner]."
Ronaldo is among a 23-man shortlist, which also includes his teammate Gareth Bale, in contention for the gong this year.
