Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has admitted that he is ready to "straighten things out" with teammate Iker Casillas.

Reports in Spain have claimed that the pair are no longer speaking after Arbeloa publicly backed Jose Mourinho's decision to drop Casillas last season.

Arbeloa has denied that he has fallen out with the goalkeeper, insisting that too much has been made of the situation. However, the 30-year-old has said that he will talk to the Spain and Real Madrid captain.

"It can't have been an easy season for Iker," Arbeloa told reporters. "Will we talk about it? We do probably need to straighten things out.

"I did not name Casillas or talk about him indirectly. Too much has been made of it. I don't have a problem with him, we have a good relationship and it won't damage the national team.

"I have a professional relationship with some of my teammates and I'm friends with others - just like in any workplace. Relationships change - they go through ups and downs."

Arbeloa joined Real for his second spell at the club in 2009.
