Gareth Bale has insisted that he "made the right decision" to join Real Madrid after lifting two trophies in his debut campaign.
The Welshman moved to the La Liga giants from Tottenham Hotspur for a record-breaking figure last summer, despite being repeatedly linked with Manchester United among others.
"I made the right decision last year," Bale told the Daily Mail. "To win two trophies last season and then the European Super Cup in Cardiff shows that.
"It's nice now to sit back and just watch the transfers. When you are settled somewhere you can enjoy it but it was the complete opposite 12 months ago, I was still at home waiting to come here.
"When you are in limbo between two clubs it's not the greatest feeling in the world but if you want to move you have to go through that sometimes."
Madrid kicked off their La Liga campaign with a 2-0 victory over Cordoba on Monday night.
