Former Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham has said that Zinedine Zidane is the "best man" the club could have chosen to take over from Rafael Benitez.
Benitez was sacked just seven months after landing the role at the Bernabeu having failed to win over the club's fans during his time in charge, with Florentino Perez today confirming Zidane as the Spaniard's successor.
It is the 44-year-old's first major job in management, but Beckham believes that his former teammate has all of the attributes to succeed.
Zidane's first game in charge of Los Blancos comes in La Liga this Saturday as they host Deportivo La Coruna.
