Iker Casillas has backed Real Madrid teammate Isco to become La Liga's flagship player in the coming years.
The 22-year-old was named man of the match in Sunday's 2-0 win at Elche and was given a standing ovation by the home fans as he left the field on 88 minutes.
Although Casillas expects great things from the youngster, the veteran goalkeeper warns that the key to fulfilling his potential is retaining a sense of humility.
"Isco will be the most important player in Spanish football in the coming years," Casillas, who has played alongside the likes of Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, told Canal Plus.
"We are delighted with him but he must take care, focus on his game and go step by step. Too much flattery can weaken players."
The Spain international has netted three La Liga goals and registered eight assists this season.
