Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he 'respects' Arsene Wenger's recent comments that the Ballon d'Or award simply promotes selfishness in players.
Speaking ahead of the North London derby at the weekend, the Frenchman claimed that he was against the debate surrounding who is the best player in the world because the sport should be more about achievements as a team.
Asked about those remarks at the premiere of his tell-all film in London this evening, Ronaldo refused to be drawn in on a slanging match with the Arsenal boss.
"[Those are his] opinions," Madrid's all-time leading goalscorer told the Evening Standard. "I respect opinions but that's it."
Ronaldo also hinted that a return to the Premier League could be on the cards in the future.
