Angel di Maria has hit back at the Real Madrid fans after claims that he made an obscene gesture to the crowd on Monday.
The winger, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal during the January transfer window, appeared to grab his crotch while being booed off by the home supporters during the second half of their 3-0 win over Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"It wasn't for anyone. I adjusted myself and kept running," Di Maria told Fox Sports. "I've never had problems with the fans. I could feel that half were applauding and half booing.
"I went out totally naturally. They always expect me to do something. I always have to clarify what I do. With everyone else nothing happens and with me it's always a complete mess.
"I fight everyday for a place at Real Madrid and it makes me angry that things are always being invented about me. But I am calm because I know it was nothing."
Recent reports have claimed that Di Maria does not want to leave the Spanish capital this month.
