Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has claimed that his players probably tried to get Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt as a memento from their friendly at the Goldsands Stadium.

The two clubs went head-to-head at the home of the newly-promoted Championship club yesterday, which resulted in a 6-0 win for the Spanish giants.

"I'm sure they tried [to get Ronaldo's shirt]," Howe said in the post-match press conference.

"I don't know what the outcome or who the lucky guy was, but certainly the lads would have been very impressed by him."

Ronaldo netted twice during the fixture.
