Karim Benzema has admitted that he 'needs to score more goals' after returning to the scoresheet in Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.
Madrid bounced back from three consecutive defeats by overcoming Plzen at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night, but it was another lacklustre performance from the European champions.
Benzema had gone eight games without a goal before registering against the Czech champions, and the striker's form has been criticised in recent weeks despite his fast start to the campaign.
The 30-year-old has insisted that he is "not tired" and has instead conceded that he simply needs to "score more goals".
"I am not tired, I just need to score more goals," Benzema told Diario AS. "I have a lot of motivation to do this because it is something that is prominent in my thinking and I want to put this right."
Madrid will look to return to winning ways in La Liga when they visit Barcelona in El Clasico this weekend.
