Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has praised his side's attitude and application in their victory over Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.
Madrid claimed a 2-0 win over Rayoafter being forced to wait 24 hours to play thanks to a floodlight failure.
Mourinho told reporters at the post-match press conference: "It was not an easy situation for us, but it was not easy for them too.
"You come with the mentallity to play, wait but are then forced to wait and wait for confirmation, and you don't play.
"Could we have played better? Yes, but I can point my critics to our attitude and the way my team get the job done, and and today Real Madrid were a team.
"I guess if we would have played with this attitude at Getafe and Sevilla, we would have won those two games."
Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema gave Madrid their first away win of the season as they closed the gap on league leaders Barcelona to eight points.
