Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has claimed that his team would "fight to the death" in a bid to secure their 10th Champions League trophy.
Speaking to television channel 'La Sexta', the 67-year-old issued the defiant statement ahead of the showpiece clash against city rivals Atletico Madrid, claiming that a tenth European Cup win, also known as 'La Decima', is something very sought after by Real fans.
"We will fight until the death to win La Decima," Perez said. "We will sweat every single drop, as Rafa Nadal does in his matches, in order to be able to win the Champions League.
"For Madridistas the Champions League is a competition in which we feel very at home.
"We owe our fans this and we will do everything we can in order to win it."
The final of the Champions League will take place on May 24 at the Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica in Lisbon, Portugal.
