Valencia boss Juan Antonio Pizzi has said that he was "very happy and proud" of his side following Sunday's 2-2 draw with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Los Che were minutes away from picking up a famous win in Madrid, but Cristiano Ronaldo struck in stoppage time to secure a share of the spoils.
"Any ball that went to the wings, they threw in crosses. We can endure but a goal came," he told AS.
"I think that although we were physically trying to match the effort of a rival, we were worse in the mental part after what we went through on Thursday.
"We tried to take the opportunities to reverse bad situations. I am very happy and proud that the players answered as they did."
Jeremy Mathieu and Dani Parejo scored the goals for Valencia in the capital.
