Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has vowed that he and his teammates will push Barcelona all the way this season as the La Liga title race continues to heat up.
Los Blancos picked up a vital 3-2 victory over Sevilla on Saturday night at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to make it seven league wins on the bounce.
Despite this rich vein of form, Madrid still trail leaders Barcelona by two points at the summit of the Spanish top flight, with just three more games left to play.
"I know from experience it was going to be very difficult to win here, we have given everything to get these three points which oblige Barcelona to keep winning," Ramos is quoted as saying by FIFA.com. "It has been a long time since Sevilla lost at home and that is to Madrid's credit.
"Until mathematically a champion is crowned, we are obliged to keep pushing, keep winning and hoping for an error from Barcelona. It is very difficult because they are playing at a very good, consistent level.
"It doesn't matter what happens in the future, we have to live in the present and give everything in every game."
Madrid have won the La Liga title just once in the last six years.
