Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez has said that his side will use past experiences to try to overcome Real Madrid in the Champions League after they played out a goalless draw at the Vicente Calderon.
The two Madrid teams played out a feisty affair, with Gareth Bale going closest in the opening minutes of their quarter-final first leg.
The draw gives Real the advantage, but Suarez believes that Atletico can still qualify, having beaten Chelsea in the semi-final 3-1 on aggregate last year after a 0-0 draw at home in the first leg.
Speaking after the match, Suarez told reporters: "It is not the result that we want but last year we went to Stamford Bridge after the same result and won. We will go to Real and try to win.
"We know each other very well, defensively we were very good but offensively we needed more. Both sides had chances to win. Jan Oblak had an amazing game."
The second leg will be played on April 22.
