Zinedine Zidane has said that he would like to see Franck Ribery named the Ballon d'Or.
Barcelona's Lionel Messi has been named the world's best player for the last four years, while Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid has been in the top three in five of the last six seasons.
The former France international, who is currently an assistant coach at the Bernabeu, told RMC: "[Ribery and Ronaldo] both deserve it, but I would give it to Franck because he was fundamental in the three trophies that Bayern won last season.
"The problem is there is a kid who has scored 55 goals in a season. Anyway, I do not decide."
Zidane won the World Footballer of the Year award three times and the Ballon d'Or once prior to the awards merging in 2010.
