The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Real Madrid eye possible reinforcements.
Florentino Perez oversaw a significant overhaul of his squad last summer before focusing more on youth in January. As is always the case with Madrid, though, some of the biggest names in football continue to be linked, even in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news of possible comings and goings at the Bernabeu.
Tuesday morning's Real Madrid transfer talk news roundup:
Napoli 'leapfrog Chelsea in race for Real Madrid's Sergio Reguilon'
Napoli have reportedly leapfrogged Chelsea in the race to sign Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon.
The 23-year-old has spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Sevilla and is believed to have gained a number of admirers following his performances for Julen Lopetegui's side.
With Chelsea understood to be in the market for a new left-back this summer, the Blues had supposedly identified Reguilon as an ideal cut-price alternative to Leicester City's Ben Chilwell.
However, Calcio Mercato claims that Napoli have now stolen a march on their rivals and are in pole position to secure the Spaniard's signature ahead of the new season.
With Ferland Mendy and Marcelo currently among the ranks at Real Madrid, the report claims that Reguilon would struggle to nail down a regular spot in Zinedine Zidane's starting lineup despite his impressive campaign with Sevilla.
Reguilon played the full 90 minutes as Sevilla advanced to the Europa League final with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday evening.
Real Madrid eye Dayot Upamecano as Sergio Ramos replacement?
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly identified Dayot Upamecano as a potential long-term replacement for talismanic captain Sergio Ramos.
Upamecano has emerged as one of the most coveted defenders in world football this season, with the 21-year-old starring to help RB Leipzig to the Champions League semi-finals.
The France Under-21 international recently signed a new contract to keep him at Leipzig until 2023, but that has not stopped speculation from swirling over his future.
Spanish outlet AS reports that Real Madrid have added their name to the list of interested parties and believe that Upamecano could become a key part of their defence as Ramos seemingly comes towards the end of his career.
However, Los Blancos are not planning a move this summer due to the financial implications of coronavirus, which puts his £41m release clause out of their reach.
The Spanish champions are likely to face stiff competition for his signature, though, with a host of other top clubs around Europe also thought to be interested in Upamecano.
