Real Madrid have maintained their perfect start to the new La Liga season with a narrow 1-0 win over Granada this evening.
The visitors almost took the lead after just six minutes when Karim Benzema broke free from midfield before lifting a shot over Roberto, but the ball landed just wide of the post.
The Frenchman did break the deadlock shortly afterwards, however, as Cristiano Ronaldo failed to control an Isco pass, allowing the ball to run through to Benzema who made no mistake with his finish this time.
Mesut Ozil almost gave his side a perfect end to the half when he rose highest to meet a free kick in stoppage time, but his header was saved by Roberto.
Roberto was forced into action again less than 10 minutes after the restart when Sergio Ramos rose to meet a cross from close range, but the keeper was alert to tip it over.
Isco was the next to test the home keeper, firing a shot in from the edge of the box that Roberto tipped onto the post.
Benzema almost doubled his personal tally shortly afterwards when he picked up Isco's shot on the edge of the box, but his effort flew just wide.
Granada had a good chance to grab an equaliser against the run of play with 15 minutes left on the clock, but Piti's effort was matched by Diego Lopez.
