Real Madrid have moved three points clear at the top of La Liga thanks to this evening's comfortable 3-0 victory over 10-man Levante at the Bernabeu.
The home side were on top for the majority of the contest, going in front after just 10 minutes when Cristiano Ronaldo rose highest to plant Angel di Maria's corner into the net.
Midway through the first half Karim Benzema had a good chance to double Los Blancos's lead, but he was denied by Keylor Navas in the Levante goal.
Benzema again came close just before the interval when he headed a Ronaldo cross against the woodwork.
Madrid were two in front a couple of minutes after the break when left-back Marcelo found the corner after being set up by Ronaldo.
Levante's task of salvaging anything from the game was made almost impossible in the 64th minute when David Navarro was sent off for a bad tackle on Ronaldo.
Benzema headed against the woodwork for a second time with 15 minutes left on the clock, before Madrid scored their third courtesy of an own goal from Nikos Karabelas.
Late on Ronaldo hit the Levante woodwork for a third time as Madrid opened up clear daylight over the chasing pack of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, who lie three and four points adrift respectively.
